Planet trail - Steinegg
Startpoint:
Peter Anich Sun Observatory – bus stop Schenkenparkplatz
Endpoint:
Peter Anich Sun Observatory – bus stop Schenkenparkplatz
A 2 to 3-hour trail in Steinegg leads you from Mercury to Pluto passing by Uranus, Venus, Jupiter and all the other planets on the way. This is only possible on the planet trail, which leads through charming meadows, forests and biotopes and offers awesome panoramic views. The sizes of the solar system were converted on a 1:1 billion ratio. The International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) marked this trail as a permanent loop trail.
Trail description: The hike starts at the Peter Anich Sun Observatory. If you take the hikers' bus, it would be worthwhile to get off at bus stop "Schenkelparkplatz" and walk on the paved road marked N to get to the sun observatory. This short leg takes about 35 minutes to walk and lets you start your planet trail at the trailhead.
Once at Peter Anich Sun Observatory, the planet trail leads you through meadows and forests, passing by numerous farms and 9 planets. Since this is a loop trail, it loops right back to the trailhead.
