Nordic Walking at the Foot of the Dolomites
Enjoy Active Summer Holidays in South Tyrol
Nordic walking was originally developed as a summer training method for pro athletes in the cross-country, biathlon, and nordic combined Olympic sports divisions. It is a fairly recent, yet very effective body workout. Nordic walking improves fitness and promotes health and wellness.
Benefits of Nordic Walking:
- Very easy and quickly learned
- Reduces stress on the musculoskeletal system by up to 30% and is therefore especially good for people with knee and back pain
- Relieves muscular tension in the shoulder and neck region
- Is the optimum outdoor training for people who want to lose weight
- Is almost 50% more effective than walking without poles, consumes more than 400 calories per hour instead of 280 for normal walking
- Provides stability and balance even on slippery ground
- Improves aerobic endurance and strengthens the muscles of the upper body
- Enhances cardiac performance and improves circulation
- Boosts oxygen supply to the entire body due to the active use of the accessory muscles of respiration
- Is the recommended outdoor sport for sports injury rehabilitation
